A Timeline of Holy Family’s History

January 1980:  Parish was canonically established. Fr. Patrick Rush appointed pastor.

June 1980:  Census indicates there are 340 families in the parish.

August 1981:  Ground broken for church.

September 1982:  Consecration and dedication of Holy Family Church.

Spring 1983:  Parish council was selected.

October 1983:  Fr. Lloyd Opoka appointed as pastor.

1987:  Parish rectory was built.

July 1993:  Fr. Robert H. Stewart appointed as pastor.

September 1998:  Ground broken for parish hall addition.

Early 2000:  Parish hall addition completed.

Early 2003:  Site for new church selected. Over 900 families in the parish.

November 2004:  Fr. Matthew Brumleve appointed as pastor.

January 2005:  Parish celebrates 25th anniversary.

August 2009:  Partition removed at back of church; 108 seats added.

Fall 2011:  Lower parking lot and new exit added.

Fall 2012:  Parishioners Attend Town Hall Meetings, Consensus to Expand at 96th Street

Fall 2013:  Parishioners View Plans for Church, Classroom and Parish Hall Expansion and Multipurpose Building

January 2014:  Fr. Philip Egan appointed as pastor.

September 2016:  Sale of land (purchased for possible new church building site)

August 2017: Parishioners attend Town Hall Meetings to discuss parish expansion of church and classroom spaces

Fall 2017: Kicked off Together We Grow Capital Campaign 2017-2020″ to the Holy Family History to expand worship space, parish hall and classrooms. Over 1000 parishioners registered at Holy Family.

March 2018: Groundbreaking for the Together We Grow Capital Campaign 2017-2020 church, classroom and parish hall expansion and building renovation.

February 2019: Parish hall and classroom expansion and renovation approved for occupancy. PSR and SHYN resume in the new space. Mass is moved to the parish hall. Construction begins on the renovation and expansion of the church.
